Tarick L. Bernat is President and Founder of American Financial Services – A Wealth Management Company (AFS). Tarick serves a dual role at AFS. While he focuses on the strategic and business development of the firm he is also an active Financial Planning Professional. Tarick has been serving his clients through a comprehensive planning process to assist them in reaching their current and future financial planning goals in the most efficient way possible. He takes pride in his hands-on personal service approach.
Tarick was born, raised and currently lives in Youngstown, OH with his wife, Laura. After graduating from Chaney High School, he served 3 years in the United States Navy. Upon completion of his service, he attended Youngstown State University while working for MetLife and later earning his LUTCF designation from The American College. Tarick is an Ohio Life and Health insurance licensed professional and holds a Series 6 securities license.
Prior to establishing American Financial Services in 1996, Tarick worked with several local credit unions to implement financial services. Now, for over 30 years’, he has helped his clients plan for their future using an extensive variety of customized strategies. He and his team are dedicated to providing first-class client service while remaining committed to the utmost standards of ethics and professionalism.
Tarick is a recognized leader in the financial services industry. He is a mainstay on his broker-dealer’s monthly “Top 50” and a 20-year member of the “Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) – The Premier Association of Financial Professionals”. MDRT members must demonstrate exceptional professional knowledge, strict ethical conduct and outstanding client service. He is also a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) where he has served as president (2008-2009) and board member of the Youngstown/Warren chapter.
Away from work, Tarick enjoys spending time with his grandkids and his two dogs Kissy & Oscar. He enjoys listening to Elvis Presley and watching football.
